2025 Downpayment Plus® Programs Open February 18 with Enhanced Technology

  • January 31, 2025

We are pleased to announce that with the opening of the 2025 Downpayment Plus® (DPP®) Programs on February 18 at 7 a.m. CT, FHLBank Chicago will be introducing a new DPP Online platform designed to better serve our members, and help them unlock funding to support homeownership. This enhanced platform offers a more efficient, streamlined experience, from application to fund disbursement, ensuring smoother navigation and faster processing times.

To support the transition to the new DPP Online system, we encourage our members to register for one of our upcoming trainings:

These sessions will provide hands-on guidance to help our members confidently navigate the new platform. Key enhancements to DPP Online include:

  • Simplified application process with clear on-screen guidance for step-by-step assistance.

  • Self-service capabilities, allowing members to manage program activities with ease.

  • Improved data validation and document management, reducing clarifications and manual steps.

While this new platform streamlines the application process and enhances the technology experience, the 2025 DPP program will continue to offer members the same valuable benefits:

  • General Pool: Participating members can reserve up to $1 million on a first-come, first-served basis to help income-eligible borrowers with down payment and closing costs of up to $10,000.

  • DPP Advantage Pool: Members can also reserve up to $1 million, providing up to $10,000 in downpayment assistance for income-eligible homebuyers obtaining their first mortgages from nonprofit lenders.

Additional Information for 2025 DPP Program Participants

  • DPP Online will be unavailable February 7–14 to facilitate the platform transition. Please plan accordingly to avoid any disruptions in processes.

  • Administrator Requirement: All members must have an assigned Administrator to complete annual certifications within the new DPP Online platform. Beginning February 10, members can assign their DPP Administrator in eBanking by their Member Security Administrator. Information on how to set up an Administrator will be covered in our training webinars and provided in our informational resources.

We look forward to working with our members to support more homebuyers in 2025. For any questions, members should reach out to their Sales Director, or our Community Investment team at 312-565-5824 or dpp@fhlbc.com.
