As a community leader, Cheryll Boswell has been an advocate for providing financial education and affordable housing resources to the underserved and unbanked population in central Illinois for over two decades. For 12 years, she served as Executive Director of METEC, a community development corporation, where she made financial education the core of every program and championed the belief that safe, decent, and affordable housing for low-income individuals with disabilities is not an option, but an obligation. With the help of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Affordable Housing Program, METEC’s homeownership programs have helped over 400 low-income families purchase homes, and have put more than $20 million dollars back into the community. Ms. Boswell currently serves as a consultant for METEC and as the director of C.K. Strategic Planning Corp.
